I want to purchase this '99 ford crown victoria POLICE CAR, ARE POLICE CARS MORE COSTLY TO MAINTAIN?

My friend told me not to buy it because police cars have different brakes (ventilated brakes?) that shops don't carry and must order which is costly. Also many components under the hood are different and more costly to replace than regular crown victorias.
