Local garage says it usually takes 2 to 3 cans at about $9 each and $10 to put it in?

ALSO: The one can I bought says do not mix with refrigerant 12? How do I know what was in there? I believe we found out that my car "calls"

Your car was designed for R12, but it no longer available in the US. If it has been retrofitted to R134a, the service ports will be a "quick connect" style, and you can add R134a up to about 3/4 the capacity listed on the label for the R12 system.
