new engine for a 1940's car?

I'm thinking about buying a 1947 pontiac silver streak its in bad condition and i would like to restore it. It doesn't run it just needs a new engine but i have no idea how to go about getting a new engine for such an old car. Also, any other tips for

Those old tanks were easily rebuild-able. You can overhaul the engine with minimal tools and some time. Parts may be hard to come by. Search the internet and look for blogs that have to do with old car restoration - there are a million of them.
